Amazon Unbox and iTunes Movies fail the Pulp Fiction test
I’m a huge fan of the idea of downloading movies - and, yes, paying for them too - ala Amazon Unbox and iTunes Movie Store.
But both of them failed the simple Pulp Fiction test. That’s right, the best. movie. ever. is not available for rental, even if I were willing to pay $4 a pop to see it (and indeed I would).
Same for several other favorites that don’t happen to be in my limited DVD collection, but would certainly qualify for the occasional download.
Is it any wonder that the P2P sharing networks are still thriving? C’mon people, it’s not like we don’t know how to use them…
